BFC-M-02: Fixed Income & International Finance

The module addresses financial management issues in an international context, with a particular focus on interest rate and exchange rate management. The central topics include the analysis and management of interest rate and currency risks, as well as the use of financial instruments to hedge international positions. Students learn about the functioning of foreign exchange and international interest rate markets and analyze the theoretical foundations of interest rate and exchange rate formation, including interest rate parity, purchasing power parity, and the international Fisher hypothesis.

The use of forwards, swaps, options, and other derivatives in international interest rate and currency management is examined from both a theoretical and practical perspective. The aim of the module is to develop a solid understanding of the dynamics of global financial markets and to enable well-informed and analytically sound business decisions in an international environment.
