BAMΞ's Mission

BAMΞ is an international initiative located at the University of Bamberg, devoted to research in Mathematical Consciousness Science and neighbouring disciplines.

Our Mission

BAMΞ's mission is to facilitate state‑of‑the‑art research in Mathematical Consciousness Science. Its primary goal is to support the field of Consciousness Science across all of its domains, wherever mathematical questions, problems, or opportunities are concerned.

To achieve this mission, BAMΞ is building an interdisciplinary research hub for consciousness researchers across all career stages to cooperate and interact.

Our Foundation

BAMΞ is founded on the belief that the mystery of consciousness can only be resolved by a systematic scientific approach, as pursued in the field of Consciousness Science. It is based on the premise that lasting progress in Consciousness Science requires collaborative research that integrates insights and methodologies across disciplines and fields, ranging from neuroscience, psychology, and cognitive science to philosophy, mathematics, physics, and computer science. It is only the combination of empirical and theoretical research that can deliver a rigorous solution to the problem of consciousness, variously conceived.
