Invitation to guest lecture by Prof. Dr. Zhang Dan
Abstract:
Drawing on qualitative methods, including in-depth teacher interviews and classroom observations, this lecture examines how teacher attitudes and practices shape gender socialization in Shanghai primary schools.
Attention is paid to disciplinary practices, emotional orientations, and their role in reproducing gender boundaries in everyday classroom interactions.
The guest lecture opens up discussions in the context of international comparative research, particularly with regard to how socialization processes in primary schools are shaped in Germany.
