Insights into the microcosm: Class 6a from Ernst-Penzoldt-Schule Erlangen visits
On Wednesday, July 16, 2025, class 6a from the Ernst-Penzoldt-Schule in Erlangen visited the Department of Science Education at Otto Friedrich University in Bamberg to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of the microcosm. Alexander Schliffka, the class teacher, used his enthusiasm and expertise to put together an exciting microscopy program for his pupils.
The focus was on examining a wide variety of specimens: from the classic onion skin with clearly visible cell structures to the brain of an insect or the wing of a bee. The students were visibly impressed by the world of the tiny. The visit not only provided practical access to scientific work, but also sparked genuine interest in close observation and research among many of the students.
We would like to thank Mr. Schliffka and look forward to our rooms continuing to be used as a place of hands-on science for pupils in the future.
