The University of Bamberg’s Form Server

The University of Bamberg is using the Formcycle form server to systematically digitise its administrative forms. Applications and notifications can be filled in and processed online. This makes for more transparent and streamlined processes and ensures structured data collection.

As part of the roll-out, existing forms will gradually be transferred from the previous system and updated on the new platform. The forms will also remain accessible via the respective departmental websites.

What is the form server?

The form server is a web-based platform for creating and using digital forms and online processes. Forms are filled in and automatically processed directly in the browser. Built-in validation checks, structured data collection and automated workflows help to prevent errors and to streamline administrative processes.

The low-code approach enables departments and other units to play an active role in digitising their processes regardless of their programming skills.

The role of the Information Systems Division (Z/IS)

  • Platform operation and technical support
  • Consultation on the digitisation of forms and processes
  • Support for the implementation of new online processes/services
  • Quality assurance prior to publication

Based on particular requirements, forms can be implemented centrally or developed in collaboration with the respective departments and other units.

Enquiries can be made using the enquiry form.

Digitising a form or process

Departments and other units can have existing forms or administrative processes digitised. The Z/IS Division provides design and implementation support and works with those involved to identify the most suitable technical solution.

File templates

Several forms are still available via the older version of the form server:

  • Notification of absence due to illness or injury (AU)
  • A1 Application
  • CEUS Access
  • Inventory re-allocation
  • Field trip application

These will be transferred to the new platform in stages and remain accessible via the respective departmental websites.
