Computational Neurophenomenology Cabin Workshop – Applications Now Open

The Bamberg Mathematical Consciousness Science Initiative (BAMΞ) is pleased to announce that planning has been completed for its upcoming Computational Neurophenomenology Cabin Workshop. Scheduled for 22–29 March 2026 and located in a mountain cabin in Dorfgastein, Austria, this one-week retreat is designed for intensive interdisciplinary engagement on the frontier of consciousness science.

This workshop will bring together a small group (up to 18 participants) of early-career researchers (senior PhD students, post-docs, early faculty) from across disciplines, including mathematics, neuroscience, philosophy, computational modelling and phenomenology. It will not follow the conventional conference format, but rather foster deep, small-group discussions, exploratory sessions, and the generation of new methodological perspectives.

The thematic focus is on the interplay between mathematical and computational approaches to phenomenology (the formal study of conscious experience) and neurophenomenology (bridging lived experience and neuroscience).

Applications are now open. Interested candidates are invited to submit an application by 20 December 2025. The workshop fee is 300€ (covering accommodation, meals and non-alcoholic beverages).

We look forward to receiving applications from those who are eager to engage in foundational discussion, cross-disciplinary collaboration and the challenge of formalising conscious experience.
