Ute Schmid appointed to Germany's most important technology academy

The managing director of the Bamberg Center for Artificial Intelligence (BaCAI) is now also contributing her expertise to the German Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech).

Ute Schmid, holder of the Chair of Cognitive Systems, contributes to the social discourse on future technologies by bringing her profound knowledge in the field of responsible AI to bear. “I am delighted that, as a member of acatech, I can actively contribute to the social and political dialogue on AI. It is particularly important to me that AI systems for the world of work, health, and education are designed in such a way that human control and supervision are promoted and a loss of competence through over-delegation is avoided.”
