Robotics for health and care at Zukunftswerkstatt Automotive
The event Zukunftswerkstatt Automotive Metropolregion Nürnberg focused on changes in the regional automotive supply industry and the use of existing technologies in other sectors. Around 250 people from industry, academia, and the public sector attended the event in Ansbach on September 30, 2026.
Medical Valley EMN e. V. organized a session on transferring automotive expertise to medical robotics. Participants discussed how automotive technologies and expertise could be used in robotic healthcare applications, including potential contributions from automotive suppliers in components, software, and system integration.
Prof. Markus Rickert from the Multimodal Intelligent Interaction group at the University of Bamberg gave a talk titled "Robotics for Health and Care: Applications, Requirements, and Challenges." Topics included human-robot interaction and the technical requirements for robots operating in changing environments.
