The university library digitise highly demanded books from their inventory and offers them at PCs in their branch libraries. Until now, around 2000 books have been digitised.

Legal basis for the electronic reading places is § 60e Abs. 4 UrhG.

  • For scientific or private research, the university library is allowed to make works from their inventory accessible for their users. These digitised books are only accessible through terminals within the library buildings.

  • The university library has permission to enable you to copy per session up to 10 percent of a work as well as of individual figures, contributions from the same journal or scientific journal, other works of small extent and out-of-stock works. We are currently working on a platform to offer you the aforementioned services.

  • To arrange remuneration, a new contract needs to be negotiated with VG Wort.
