Sofía Ayelén Quiñones studied History at the University of Buenos Aires and obtained her Diploma of Honour in 2023. She is currently pursuing her PhD in History at the same university with a doctoral research grant from Argentina's National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET). Her doctoral project focuses on interreligious relations between Jews and Christians based on the anti-Jewish preaching of Gaudentius of Brescia, a bishop from northern Italy during Late Antiquity.

She also works as a secondary school teacher, teaching history courses in several Argentine schools, and is a member of research groups on Late Antiquity in her country. She was awarded a Research Grants in Germany scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Now she is doing a research stay at the University of Bamberg until March 2026.
