Biography
Sandra Jaworeck studied sociology at Leipzig University. She then worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Sociology with a focus on health research at Chemnitz University of Technology from 2019 to 2025. Her research focuses on quantitative empirical social research, health sociology, and medical sociology. In 2024, she received her doctorate with a thesis on “The Intersection of Machine Learning and Multilevel Analysis to Connect Subjective and Objective Levels in Health Research,” in which she developed an international health index that maps access to the health care system. Prior to that, she was also involved in third-party-funded research projects, including one on corporate strategies in the manufacturing industry at Ruhr University Bochum.
In addition to her research activities, she has been treasurer and social media officer of the Section for Medical and Health Sociology at the German Sociological Association since 2020. She has many years of teaching experience in quantitative research methods and statistics and has worked as an honorary lecturer at the International University (Leipzig, Frankfurt, Bremen, Dortmund), the Center for Teacher Training and School Research in Leipzig, and for a summer school in Leipzig, among others.
