The Student Board strengthens the SAS community by connecting students, faculty, and external partners, while shaping the program environment. Its mission is to represent the student perspective, support program activities, and contribute to a vibrant and engaged SAS community.
The Student Board members are ambassadors of the program and are therefore required to show a high degree of commitment, engagement, and leadership that goes beyond the classroom. Members are selected by the SAS program directors based on the following criteria:
- Hands-on mentality: Moving from ideas to action by actively supporting and implementing activities within the SAS community.
- Organization and project management skills: Helping coordinate events and initiatives such as the SAS Lunch or the SAS Forum.
- Communication and relationship building capabilities: Articulating student perspectives and facilitating dialogue between students, faculty, and external stakeholders through the SAS Partner Network.
These competencies make them not only ambassadors of the SAS program but also demonstrate their potential as future professionals in organizations striving for leadership in strategy and sustainability.
How can you join the SAS Student Board?
Members of the Student Board are appointed by the SAS program directors. Students who are interested in contributing to the Board are encouraged to express their interest. Selection typically considers both active engagement within the SAS community and academic performance.
