General information:

A double-degree program ocombines studies at the University of Bamberg with an integrated academic year at an international partner university. Students earn two master’s degrees within the standard period of study: the M.Sc. Strategy and Sustainability from the University of Bamberg and one from the respective partner university.

In most cases, students participating in a double-degree program do not pay tuition fees at the partner university. In addition, eligible students may automatically receive an Erasmus scholarship. The double-degree programs therefore offer an attractive opportunity to gain international academic experience and earn an additional degree.

Interested in applying?

  • Applications for the double-degree programs are only accepted for the winter semester.
  • Please note that the application deadlines for double-degree programs are shorter than for regular master’s applications and usually end in mid-June. The exact deadlines for the upcoming winter semester can be found here.
  • It is possible to apply for more than one double-degree program.
  • To secure a place in an SAS double-degree program, applicants must first meet the formal admission requirements for the M.Sc. Strategy & Sustainability program. In addition, the application must include:
    • a statement of purpose; if you apply for several double-degree programs, one statement of purpose is sufficient;
    • proof of the language proficiency required by the partner university. Detailed information can be found on the pages of the individual double-degree programs.
  • If you are interested in a double-degree program, we recommend contacting Dr. Tobias Kaufmann, Assistant to the Foreign Representative for Social Sciences, Economics, and Business Administration.

Application process:

  • Please apply online via the University of Bamberg’s application portal: START THE APPLICATION
  • Once you have submitted your application, it will be reviewed. Approximately two weeks after the application deadline, suitable candidates will be invited to a brief interview via Microsoft Teams. Applicants will receive feedback on their application by the end of July.
  • You will either be accepted or rejected for the double-degree program. If you have applied for several programs, you will be informed which partner university has accepted you, if any.
  • Final admission to the host institution takes place during your first semester in Bamberg through the host university. This step is a formality, and no further selection process will take place.
  • If you are not accepted for a double-degree program but meet the admission requirements for the M.Sc. Strategy & Sustainability program, you will be admitted to the regular single-degree program.
