Admission and Enrolment

The bachelor’s degree programme in Archaeology does not limit admissions. It can be started either in the winter or summer semester. A formal admissions requirement is the general university entrance qualification.

Good foreign language skills, particularly in English, are another condition for being able to complete this programme successfully. You should be flexible and resilient, and should be interested in history. Working outside – whatever the weather – is part of any archaeologist’s life. On archaeological digs, teamwork and good social skills are crucial. Care and perseverance are also needed for the academic analysis of finds and discoveries in the laboratory or at your desk.

The University of Bamberg’s Academic Registrar’s Office handles enrolment.
You can find the current enrolment deadlines and the necessary documents on the Office’s website.

You can enrol via our online portal. You can also find information on enrolment here.
