Geomorphic and sedimentologic tsunami evidence on the Hawaiian Islands

Investigator:

  • Aims: Determine geomorphic evidence for tsunamis in Hawaii
  • Methods: Geomorphic mapping, geomorphic/sedimentologic  field investigations, remote sensing techniques, geographic information systems (GIS), ESR (Electron Spin Resonance), and C14 dating
  • Funding: Proposal submitted to the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG)
  • Time frame: 2003-2005
