Furthermore, you can go through some example corpus studies and read about aspects to consider when conducting a corpus analysis. The second link will lead you to a list of corpora including the variety and the time span they cover, the number of words and the types of texts the prevailing corpus is compiled of. Moreover, the corpora are assigned to different categories. On the bottom of the page, there is a link to a web chi square calculator. You can thus find out about the statistical significance of the results of your own corpus-based project.
This website of the Universities of Helsinki and Jyväskylä contains a Corpus Resource Database (CoRD) with which you can find out more about a large number of corpora including all of the corpora Mair has used in his analysis.
