Focusing on Gender - Changing Society

GENIAL stands for "GEschlechterpoteNzIALe nutzen - Gesellschaft verändern" (Focusing on Gender - Changing Society).

University-wide Women's Representative Prof. Dr. Astrid Schütz, in cooperation with the Women's Office, raised funding from the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research for the GENIAL Project. The goal of the ministry's call for proposals, titled "Geschlechteraspekte im Blick" (Keeping Gender in Mind), is to promote and establish gender-sensitive, need-based research at German universities. The funding process is divided into two stages. In stage one, the granted sum of 50,000€ will be used to evaluate the current situation at the University of Bamberg and to develop the project's detailed concept and plan. With the developed concept and plan, the university will be able to apply at the end of the year to receive further funding from the Federal Ministry for Education and Research for stage two.

We will keep this page up-to-date with information on upcoming events related to the subject of gender-sensitive research. During the 2022 summer semester, we will also create a catalog of researchers at the University of Bamberg who focus on or have special interest in gender-sensitive research.

Please do not hesitate to contact Prof. Dr. Astrid Schütz or Dipl.-Soz. Johanna Bamberg-Reinwand for more information about the project in general. Dr. Janina Dillig may also be contacted by individuals who wish to be included in the catalog of gender-sensitive researchers at the University of Bamberg.
