Absorption of publishing fees by the Open-Access-Fund
The management of the University encourages its scientists to publish their work in Open-Access journals and to serve as peer reviewers and editors for such Open-Access journals. The absorption of publishing fees with quality-controlled Open-Access journals is supported by a central open-access-fund. To benefit from the support of the fund, certain criteria have to be met:
- The to-be published articles appear in journals which make their articles freely and publicly available through the internet (“real Open-Access journals”) and apply renowned and strict quality-control.
- The publication fees (APC) do not exceed 2.000€ per article.
- A scientist from the Otto-Friedrich-University is as a “submitting author” or a “corresponding author” responsible for paying the publication fees.
All members of the University may apply for funding from the Open-Access Fund:
The University Library will check if the requirements for assistance with open access fees have been met. Once the resources have been released by the Registrar, the invoice will be paid by the University Library.
