Funding of International Symposia

All doctoral programmes at the University of Bamberg are eligible to receive IPID4all funding for the organization of an international symposium in the period from from 1 November 2017 to 30 June 2019. In 2017 funding will be grandted to two doctoral programmes. In 2018, funding will be granted to 4 doctoral programmes. In 2019 (1 January to 30 June), symposium funding will be available for 3 programmes.

Eligible Expenditures

For the organization of an international symposium, every doctorate programme is eligible to receive a one-time total sum of €4,900 which can to be used to cover the following expenses:

  • Travel and accomodation expenses for visiting doctoral candidates from abroad for a max. three-day stay in Bamberg.
  • Travel and accomodation expenses for guest speakers from a foreign university or academic institution for a max. three-day stay in Bamberg.
  • The employment of a graduate assistant who is entrusted exclusively with the organisation of the symposium.
  • Hospitality costs
  • Printing expenses for flyers / posters

Application Process

Step 1: Please send two proposals regarding the year in which you would like to hold the international symposium to Ms. Simone Treiber, ipid4all.trac(at)uni-bamberg.de, by 30 June 2017. If you need further information or consultation, feel free to contact Ms. Treiber. You will receive a binding confirmation with the implementation year by the end of September 2017.

Step 2: Please contact the IPID4all coordinator at the beginning of your planning and submit a concept draft (max. 5 pages) no later than two months prior to the start of the symposium.
