Dear new students!

Welcome to the University of Bamberg! The start of your studies also marks the beginning of a new phase in your life, a phase that is usually accompanied by numerous questions. The Central Student Advisory Service, the faculty student representatives and many of the university's institutions are committed to making your start at the university as easy as possible. For this reason, we organise new student orientation events each semester prior to the start of lectures.

We would like to help you with important things like creating your course schedule and provide you with information that is essential for a good start to your studies: where to find the courses in the course catalogue, how to register for examinations, which regulations form the basis of your studies or how to read a module handbook, etc.

That's exactly what we do in the orientation. On the homepage of the Central Student Advisory Service and in our Virtual Campus, we have created courses that provide critical information on each degree programme and subject of study. These courses will be accessible to you beginning at the beginning of october.

If you can't immediately make sense of the information provided in the Virtual Campus, that's no problem. The week of new student orientation events takes place from 11 to 16 October, during which you can take part in tutorials, subject introductions and various other informative events pertaining to your studies. If you are unsure about your course schedule, for example, a more experienced fellow student will look over it with you and help you plan out a good first semester.

Still have questions?
