Academic positions

Paul Löwe studied Sociology and Economics at the University of Mannheim from 2009 until 2012 and Sociology at the University of Bamberg from 2012 to 2015. During his Bachelor studies he worked as a student assistant at the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES) and as tutor for the lecture in Social Structure of Germany in International Comparison. Parallel to his Master studies he worked as a student assistant at the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories (LIfBi) and for the chair of Sociology, especially Survey-Methodology. During his studies he was scholar of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation. He completed internships at the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) in Nuremberg and at Rambøll Management Consulting GmbH in Berlin. In April 2015 he started working as a research and teaching associate at the University of Bamberg. Since November 2022, he has also been working as a research associate at the State Institute for Family Research at the University of Bamberg (ifb). In his PhD thesis he analyses career dynamics in public service in Germany.
