Carmen Friedrich studied Sociology and Education at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (B.A. 2016) und Sociology at the University of Bamberg (M.A. 2019). She did an internship at the Federal Agency of Migration and Refugees in Nuremberg (2015) and during her master studies she worked as a student assistant at the Professorship of Demography as well as at the State Institute of Family Research at the University of Bamberg (ifb). Since April 2019 she is a research assistant at the Professorship of Demography. In her PhD thesis she analyses fertility and women’s agency in the Middle East and North Africa.

Since July 2021 Carmen Friedrich is employed as research assistant with the Working Group "Future Values" at the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities.
