Workshop "Understanding the Germans", Mo., 13.02.

Dear (international) PhD students of the University of Bamberg,

I would kindly invite you to and remind you of the upcoming workshop "Understanding the Germans" which takes place on Monday, 13th February 2017 from 2 to 5 p.m. Place: An der Weberei 5, Room 04.003.
The workshop is designed for newly arrived scholars and their spouses, but you are also very welcome if you have been staying in Germany for a while now – or if you are German and would like to find out more about your own cultural imprint.
With an intercultural trainer, you will take a look at those things which are typical of Germany and the Germans and which can cause problems for international people and spend an entertaining afternoon discussing how to successfully deal with the Germans. Topics include how to handle communication, the concept of time, the importance of rules and regulations, dos and don’ts and the “why” behind them.
The course takes place during the the kick-off day of the Woche der jungen Forschung, so you are more than welcome to spend the afternoon and the upcoming days with us in order to broaden your academic mind and establish new and promising contacts.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me any time.

I hope to see many of you next week!
Kind regards
Simone Treiber
