University language and sport courses for WS 2019/2020
Dear international researchers,
welcome to all new arrivals and welcome back to all of us who are back after the summer break! With this newsletter, we would like to inform you about German language and sports courses during the upcoming winter semester. You are warmly invited to participate!
1. German Language Courses
We are happy to be able to offer three intensive German courses for international doctoral students, post-docs and professors and their partners during the upcoming winter semester!
There will be one course for absolute beginners(20.4 KB), one for advanced beginners(42.8 KB) and another one for advanced learners(42.9 KB). All courses are free of charge! Each course will comprise 90 minutes per week, will take place on campus and will start at the end of October.

2. University Sports Courses
You will find the University’s sports program for the winter semester 2019-20 on this website (German only): https://www.buchsys.de/bamberg/angebote/WS_2019_2020/index.html
The courses are open for all international (visiting) PhD students and international (visiting) scholars researching and teaching at the University. They start from 14th of October. All courses except for the ball sports require a registration and cost a small fee.
Online registration will be possible via this website from Monday, 7th October (please check the respective course description for the exact time the registration portal opens). Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. You need a ba-number to register i.e. only enrolled students, university staff or members of the university can use the portal. You will also be asked to fill out a SEPA form with your bank account details as the fee will be debited from your account. If you do not (yet) have a ba-number, please send us an email by Wednesday, 25th September with the course titles and times you would like to participate in. We will take care of your registration. Please send or bring us the course fee in cash then.
