Prof. Dr. Nils Steiner

Nils Steiner serves as interim professor for Political Science, in particular Political Sociology, at the University of Bamberg in the 2020/21 winter term. He was previously employed, and is currently on leave, as post-doctoral researcher at the University of Mainz. Nils Steiner studied Political Science and Economics at the University of Hamburg until 2009 and gained his doctorate in Political Science at the University of Mainz in 2015.
His research is in the field of Political Sociology with a focus on developed democracies. In particular, he is interested the political attitudes and behavior of citizens, party politics and political economy. His articles have been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Electoral Studies, European Journal of Political Research, European Union Politics, Journal of European Public Policy, Party Politics, Politische Vierteljahresschrift, and West European Politics.
