• open for a substantial work contract during the summer term (half-time or even full-time if you are on a semester on leave (Urlaubssemester))

“Support the field study” could mean that you or your team members …

•  organize mobility data collection campaigns, e.g., on bicycle data
  assemble open-source sensor systems to collect data
• collect mobility data yourself using different transportation modes in Bamberg
• anonymize, analyze, and visualize intermodal mobility data
  conduct surveys and interviews

We offer …

• multiple positions for research assistants and graduate assistants (E12 for students with Bachelor, E13 with Master) starting from 50% for 6 months (1.4.-30.9.2025), depending on your situation, qualification, and remaining study load
• a work place in the MOBI lab at the WE5 building

the Chair of Mobile Software Systems of Prof. Dr. Daniela Nicklas invites you to the final presentation of the results of our projects in the summer semester on Monday, July 17, 2023. For this purpose, the students will present their results in a poster presentation.

In the summer semester, the focus of our projects was Digital Health. The specific topics of each exhibition are:

MEDTALK: Speech-to-text application in medical practices.
Accessiwheel: route planner for people with mobility impairments
Snappoll: Survey tool for social science studies
The final presentation will take place on 07/17/2023 between 11:00 and 13:45 in the foyer (main entrance to the library) at Erba (an der Weberei 5). If you have any questions, please get in touch.

Prof. Johannes Schildgen is a professor for databases and Big Data analytics at the Regensburg University of Applied Sciences (OTH
Regensburg) since this semester. Before, he worked for Exasol in Nuremberg for three years.

The contents of the course are relevant for the MOBI-ADM-M exam.

These devices have enabled us to stay more connected with friends and family, archive parts of our lives that might otherwise be forgotten, and help bring to light incidents of illegal and unethical activities; however, along with these opportunities come additional privacy risks that must be addressed.  In the past few years, there have been numerous incidents reported where people have deployed hidden cameras or remotely compromised devices with existing cameras to spy on others.  This talk will present the techniques that we have developed to detect hidden Wi-Fi cameras with mobile phones.  Additionally, we will discuss new opportunities in privacy-preserving video sharing and crowdsourced auditing of video databases.  With this work, we are striving to create systems that enable the potential of pervasive technology while simultaneously limiting the privacy risks of that technology.
