Prerequisites of Admission
The course of studies adresses students having concluded an university degree (or equivalent) in social siences, economics, mathematics, psychology or other disciplines relevant for statistics with grade 2.5 (good) or better.
Moreover knowledge of modules with statistical and or quantitative methodical orientation to the extent of at least 30 ECTS credits have to be proven. This knowledge could have been acquired in courses of descriptive, inductive, multivariate as well as computer-assisted statistics, mathematical propaedeutics and econometrics or subject-specific empirical research methods.
The studies can be taken up in the winter as well as in the summer term. An application must take place online prior to the deadline of registration of the particular term. Information concerning applications and deadlines is available here.
In case of (probably) insufficient statistical and/or quantitative methodical knowledge (< 30 ECTS credits) you can e.g. complete module studies before being admitted to the Master's Degree Programme Survey Statistics in order to fulfill the required qualifications for the admission. It's also possible to qcquire missing ECTS credits during a Summer School.
Additionally to the centrally organised introductory and orientation event (EET) (Programme for the general introductory and orientation event; pdf, german) for study freshmen, an introductory course für Master's Survey Statistics freshmen takes place at the beginning of summer term 2018.
Within this foundation course organised by the chair of Statistics and Econometrics fundamental relevant knowledge and skills for the Master's degree programme Survey Statistics are repeated and imparted respectively. In addition the students have the opportunity of getting to know each other.
