Introductory library sessions

This is our basics session which focuses on searching for literature and checking out items: How do I search the Online Catalogue? How do I find books in the University Library and how long can I keep them? How do I find articles in magazines and how does interlibrary search work?

The introductory library sessions for students of English and American Studies, German Language, Literature and Culture, Romance Studies and Slavic Studies are part of the respective Introductions to Literary Studies and obligatory for all beginning students.

The introductory library session consists of two parts: an E-Learning-module and a training session. Both parts are interdisciplinary and have to be completed only once (even with multiple languages as study subjects) and are accepted by all fields in the faculty of the Humanities.

To get credit for the introductory course, both parts of the course must be completed. Taking part in a general introductory session at the university library does no substitute for this tutorial!

You will need your ba-number and the related password for the training session. Please activate your library card in one of our branch libraries beforehand.

Duration

The training session starts c.t. and takes 90 minutes.
