Structure of the Programme
The programme can be divided into obligatory, semi-obligatory and choice elements. Among the obligatory elements are three modules consisting of a class and a lecture (Vertiefungsmodule), as well as the practice module containing work experience, excursions to museums and a seminar in which ongoing M.A. theses are discussed. Further modules must be added for which a certain choice from Oriental Studies, Art History or Archaeology is recommended. The flexible segment (Erweiterungsbereich) should normally be used for language training. Usually, the fourth semester is devoted to the M.A. thesis. All students are strongly recommended to discuss their individual study programme with the administrator of the study course.
The M.A. can also be studied part-time, meaning that the regular duration will be extended to eight semesters.
