Monitoring Heritage 2021
International Summer School: September 20 - 24, 2021
Developed as an interdisciplinary course at the Institute of Archaeology, Heritage Sciences and Art History at the University of Bamberg, this year the summer school be co-organized with the Univerzita Karlova (Charles University) and the Akademie věd České republiky (Czech Academy of Sciences, CAS) and will take place in or near Prague. Students from Bamberg and Prague with an interest in landscape archaeological topics are wellcome to take part. Focus of this years survey will be an Iron Age hillfort, the oppidum Závist.
Monitoring Heritage 2021 offers an introduction to the theoretical basics and practical experience in non-invasive (or minimally invasive) analysis and the recording of historical landscapes, focusing on geophysical applications and digital technologies in archaeology. The couse will be given in English.
