Academic Positions

Simon Christoph studied Sociology (M.A. 2015, B.A. 2012) at the University of Bamberg. During his studies he worked as a student and graduate assistant at several chairs and research institutions: Junior Professorship for Sociology with focus on educational inequalities (2013-2016), Chair for Analysis of Social Structures (2015), Chair of Sociology 1 within the scope of the BiKS-project (2010 & 2012-2013) and at the European forum of migration studies (2011-2012). Furthermore, he did an internship at the Federal Agency of Migration and Refugees in Nuremberg (2011). Since October 2015 he holds a stipend at the Bamberg Graduate School of Social Sciences (BAGSS) and since June 2016 he is a Research Assistant at the Chair of Sociology, especially Methods of Empirical Social Research.

  • Social Inequalities (esp. educational inequalities), social stratification & exclusion
  • Social capital and social networks
  • Integration of immigrants and related consequences
  • Quantitative and qualitative research methods
