Informal Employment in Transition States
Within her doctoral thesis E. Mandieva addresses informal employment in the transition states, particularly in post-soviet countries. Her research work focuses on wage employment that performed informally. In order to analyze determinants and consequences of this kind of employment, she is analyzing the international cross-sectional data LITS from 2006, 2010, 2014 (EBRD) and TEW-CCA 2016 (University of Bamberg).
Research questions are following:
1. What are main characteristics of informal wage employment in transition countries?
2. What are determinants of informal employment at micro and macro level?
3. What are consequences of informal employment, especially for youth (18-35)?
Methods of quantitative as well as qualitative data analysis are applied to answer above research questions.
