The University Board of Management
The University of Bamberg is run by an executive board of management. The management is based on a cooperative model, meaning that the members of the board are not merely the president’s preliminary workforce, but rather, like members of a cabinet, they are each accountable for their own field of responsibility.
The three vice-presidents, Prof. Dr. Frithjof Grell, Prof. Dr. Margarete Wagner-Braun and Prof. Dr. Guido Wirtz are responsible for teaching and learning, research and technology and innovation, respectively.
Dr. Steuer-Flieser, registrar of the university, is responsible for finances and personnel. Prof. Dr. Godehard Ruppert, university president, is the head of the board of management and is generally responsible for its operations and for remaining duties and functions not assigned to the other board members.
