Our department is the first in Germany dedicated exclusively to the archaeology of the Middle Ages and the Post-Medieval Era. Our degree programmes are distinguished by optimal instructor to student ratios and are part of a faculty in which committed scholars of the humanities and cultural sciences research and teach together. Our students benefit from excellent contacts to governmental archaeological agencies, renowned museums, foundations and cultural institutions both in Germany and abroad.
