🎉Exciting news!🎉

A new article on „The multidimensionality of overemployment - Development and initial validation of a new scale” by Julia Hiemer and Maike Andresen has been published in the German Journal of Human Resource Management.

While overemployment has traditionally been defined as a mismatch between actual and preferred working hours, recent qualitative studies conceptualize it as a multidimensional psychological construct. However, research still lacks a sufficiently complex and statistically validated measure of psychological overemployment. To address this, the present study developed and validated a multidimensional Psychological Overemployment Scale (POS), the first psychometrically tested instrument of its kind.

👉”Researchers can use the POS to develop knowledge on psychological overemployment, its antecedents and outcomes.”

👉 “Practitioners can apply it to evaluate work flexibilization instruments, for organizational diagnosis, or coaching.”

We are excited to share this article and are curious to see how the POS will inspire future research and practice!
