Advice und Consultation Hours

The Department of British Culture's lecturers are available to assist you in the course of and between semesters during their consultation hours. Please give at least one week's notice, by letter or email, for your appointment.

 

N.B.:

Student Counsultation:

Student consultation (about e.g. FlexNow or particular courses) cannot be carried out via email.  We will be happy to give you advice on a personal basis during our consultation hours or at other times.

Emails will not be answered during the weekend (i.e. from 4pm on Friday to 8am on Monday). Please factor this into your own planning.

 

Attestations and references:

If you need an attestation or reference, please contact the relevant lecturer/course coordinator as soon as possible, and certainly at least four weeks before the official deadline. You should also provide a copy of your application documents, including a CV, a transcript of records (or list of marks), and a letter of motivation. References are only provided for students who have completed a Lehrstuhl seminar with a mark of 'gut' or better. 

Please do not forget to provide an addressed envelope, an email address, or other contact details. A reference will only be written if all the above conditions are met.

We reserve the right to schedule a personal meeting to clarify any outstanding questions. These conditions are specifically intended to ensure that we can put together an accurate attestation or reference, with a good chance of success.
