Iustyna Vasilchenko first obtained her bachelor degree in Chemical technology from the National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University, Russia, in 2010, with a thesis on “Production of Ceramic Pigments with Akermanite Structure”.
Then she went on to receive her Master degree in Chemical technology and Biotechnology at the National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University and Université catholique de Louvain (l'Ecole Polytechnique de Louvain), Belgium, in 2012, with specialization in Chemical engineering of Refractory nonmetals and Silicates, with a thesis on “Sol-gel Process Application for Glass Materials Technology. After her Master studies she had an internship at the AGC Glass Europe R&D Centre, Belgium.
She achieved her Ph.D title in Physics in 2016, at the Università degli studi di Trento, Dipartimento di Fisica, Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche- Istituto di Fotonica e Nanotecnologie, Italy, with a thesis title: “Fabrication and characterization of phosphate-based planar waveguides activated by Er3+ ions”.
