Die Festrede "Symbolic work in sciene careers: the invisible workload for women in Academia." wird von Professorin Dr. Heather Hofmeister gehalten.

Eine Kurzbeschreibung:
"The equality of men and women is one of the values of the European Union (Article 2 TEU). The fact that it needs to be stated indicates that it cannot be taken for granted. Many activities and programs exist to increase the proportion of women in underrepresented leadership and in academic positions. Some are about increasing the presence and visibility of women already in these positions. But the high interest in women’s presence and visibility bring new demands. These are often unnamed, unrecognized, and in some cases paradoxically invisible activities. Simulaneously, other gendered work continues to run in parallel. My talk points out the visible and invisible symbolic work of women in academia using examples from my research. I suggest some paths forward that might reduce the burden of this invisible workload."  - Heather Hofmeister
