
The SMEEE consortium consists of 6 partner institutions on both sides of the Atlantic. Originally founded in 2003, the aim of the consortium is to develop new and innovative transatlantic curricula in the field of Small and Medium-size Enterprises and Entrepreneurship education as well as to enhance transatlantic student and faculty flows. The European partner institutions are Otto-Friedrich University of Bamberg (European Leader), Universidad de Alicante and Université Catholique de Louvain. The three partners from the US are Appalachian State University, Clemson University, and University of North Florida. The consortium is funded by the Educational,Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency of the European Union.

In order to enhance mobility across the Atlantic students and faculty members may apply for mobility grants.
Student Exchanges
Mobility grants are intended for full-time study only at the US partner institutions Appalachian State University, Clemson University, and University of North Florida. Each mobile student must spend on the other side of the Atlantic at least one academic semester or term of no less than four months and such that to bear at least 30 ECTS. Furthermore, students must take a class to the field of small and medium-size enterprise and entrepreneurship education. A list of courses can be found here.
At University of Bamberg please send you application for the abovementioned Universities to the Akademisches Auslandsamt. The usual application deadline for studying in the USA applies. At Université Catholique de Louvain and at Universidad de Alicante please contact the local coordinators mentioned above.
Upon acceptance to the program please send your application for financial support to the European Coordinator Prof. Dr. Matthias Muck. The awarded grant is paid in two instalments including a payment of 80% before departure and 20% after returning. Payments are only possible, if enough funds from the EU are available. In case of interruption or cancellation of the stay across the Atlantic or when students to not earn enough credits students are obliged to reimburse grant payments received. Faculty Exchanges
Scholarships are intended for full-time work and for a period of 1 week (minimum) and 8 weeks (maximum). The travel must be related to scholarly work in relation to the SMEEE program.
