Student life in a city of spectacular beauty

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993, Bamberg is one of the most beautiful towns in Germany: With its Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque buildings, it is an architectural gem. Nevertheless, it is an affordable city. Aside from its relatively low living costs and a thriving student community, Bamberg offers an abundance of cultural events and recreational opportunities, including a lively music and club scence. Bamberg is a town of amazing contrasts. It has a distinct regional identity, but is simultaneously home to a diverse community of German and international students. It is nestled in the Franconian countryside on the one hand, yet easily accessible by rail or car from Frankfurt, Munich or Nuremberg on the other. externer Link folgt Nuremberg's international airport is only 60km away. Even major capital cities such as Berlin or Prague can be reached relatively easily by rail or car. For more information about these features and other aspects of Bamberg, check out the following link to the city's externer Link folgt official tourist office.

In addition, we support the International Office's efforts in Political Science: a dedicated lecturer (Dipl.-Pol. Political Science at Bamberg is committed to offering modules in both German and English to international students. In addition to our regular programmes, we are in the process of creating some strategic partnerships with a select number of excellent universities abroad. As a result we are already able to offer an international Double Master's degree with externer Link folgt Aston University in the United Kingdom. Our portfolio of partner universities will be expanded in due course. We anticipate starting a further Double Master's programme with the University of Tiblisi in the near future. These programmes will give students from our partner universities access to the programme at Bamberg and will, in the longer term, internationalise the student learning experience for all of our students at the University of Bamberg.
