ausführlich

At the University of Bamberg, Political Science is taught as a social science with a strong empirical focus. Teaching is informed by the research of senior faculty members. Both our teaching and research are strongly driven by theory and place a great deal of weight on cutting-edge research methods, especially at graduate level. Political Science is an integral part of the Bamberg Graduate School of Social Sciences ( BAGSS), which is one of the Graduate Schools funded under the German federal and state governments' Excellence Initiative, providing internationally outstanding training for doctoral students.
The University is in a position to offer courses in all major sub-fields of Political Science. In addition to Political Theory, Comparative Politics and International Relations, students can choose from a diverse range of modules in Political Sociology (including the study of political behaviour), Comparative Public Policy Analysis and Administrative Studies. Students benefit from an extensive yet flexible curriculum, offering a solid grounding in the core areas of the discipline at undergraduate level and affording them with opportunities to specialise within Political Science at the graduate (Master's) level. In addition, undergraduate students may study Political Science as a 'major' in conjunction with a second 'major' (such as History), or together with a numer of 'minor' subjects such as Business Administration, History, Public Law and Statistics.
The University of Bamberg has recognized the new, important role that internationalization plays in preparing students for their future career prospects and has started implementing its international strategy by setting up a Double Masters programme together with Aston University in Birmingham.
