General Information

The European Joint Master’s Degree Programme in English and American Studies is an English-taught full time programme which is completed over two years (four semesters) with a total of 120 ECTS credits. The programme can be started in the winter term only. It includes an obligatory mobility term (30 ECTS credits; usually in the third semester) in one of the six partner universities.

The programme offers specialized academic training in English and American Studies focusing on three core areas: literature, linguistics and cultural studies. The universities in the consortium work together to provide an international curriculum with regional aspects, and to ensure its academic quality.

After successful completion of the full programme, students will be awarded the joint MA degree of the core members of the consortium identifying the corresponding equivalent per country, and receive a diploma supplement.

The target group are graduates with the equivalent of a Bachelor’s or Diploma degree in English and/or American Studies (180 ECTS). Graduates from another philology can be admitted if the completed programme is judged to be equivalent through the regular admission procedure of the university to which the student applies.
