COST Action "Pain Assessment in Patients with Impaired Cognition, especially Dementia"

COST (European Cooperation in the Field of Scientific and Technical Research) is an inter-governmental framework for fostering collaboration between researchers in Europe.

The University of Bamberg is the host institution of the COST Action "Pain Assessment in Patients with Impaired Cognition, especially Dementia", with Prof. Dr. Stefan Lautenbacher holding the chair position within this Action.

This COST Action brings together leading researchers from more than 13 countries and from a wide range of disciplines. The major aim is to improve pain assessment and thereby pain treatment in patients with dementia. More precisely, the COST Action tries to develop a comprehensive and internationally agreed-on assessment toolkit for older adults targeting the various subtypes of dementia and various aspects of pain.
