Promoting and Supporting Young Scholars

The Trimberg Research Academy (TRAc) was founded as a central scientific institution in 2009. With its service-oriented profile, it also offers support for postdoctoral researchers who wish to associate themselves with the University of Bamberg via independent externally funded projects.

Tasks

- Conceptualisation: The coordinator is in charge of institutionalising TRAc as part of the university as a whole and helps to continuously develop its profile in terms of both structure and content.

- Communication and public relations: Communication within and beyond the university’s bodies as well as establishing networks with comparable institutions (Research Schools, Research Academies), umbrella associations (such as GUAT) and other relevant external organisations also fall within the scope of the coordinator’s area of responsibility.

- TRAc gives advice concerning funding options to young scholars who have finished (or who are close to finishing) their PhD, and who have an interest in associating themselves and their independent research projects with the University of Bamberg ( TRAc Projects). In cases of successful fundraising, TRAc will continue to accompany and support these projects over the course of their completion.
