Bamberg is a small, yet bubbly university town, historical in spirit and boasting a rich spectrum of cultural events.
Travelling or walking through the picturesque Old Town - which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993 - is easy for more than 12,000 students, and the quality of life is enhanced by the intimate nature of the city.
Counseling and good organization are of great priority; the student-teacher ratio for the majority of subjects is favorable. This is why students can complete their studies more quickly here than at other universities. Thus, the university has been ranked as offering a "fast track for the determined."

There are as many as 26 Bachelor and 44 Master programmes. Students can as well attend courses leading to teaching qualifications for all types of school.

Students are always within easy reach of the university and the picturesque town is very familiar and friendly. The Old Town is home to a hive of student activity with book stores, restaurants, bistros and cafés.
