The Chair of Romance Literatures offers programs in French, Italian, and Spanish literatures and cultures of both Europe and the Americas.

These programs include the study of literary history, established and current critical methodologies, literary theory and analysis, Romance philology, the sociology of literature, literature and history, cultural studies, cultural analysis, film history and film analysis. Professor De Rentiis is member of the Graduate School "Generation Conflicts and Generational Conscience in Antiquity and the Middle Ages". We regularly invite distinguished scholars from Germany and abroad to lecture and to teach.
