Daniel Beimborn is Research Associate at the Department for Information Systems and Services at University of Bamberg, Germany. Daniel graduated in Business Administration at Goethe University, Frankfurt, where he also received his PhD in Information Systems. He has been member of the PhD program 492 "Enabling Technologies for Electronic Commerce" of the German National Science Foundation (DFG). He worked with Microsoft in Redmond and was Visiting Scholar at Louisiana State University and Georgia State University. He is author of more than 70 reviewed articles (in MIS Quarterly, International Journal of Information Management, Information Systems Frontiers, WIRTSCHAFTSINFORMATIK etc.) and conference papers (ICIS, ECIS, AMCIS, WI, HICSS, PACIS) as well as seven books on outsourcing and process optimization of banking processes, cooperative sourcing, outsourcing relationship management, standardization, IT management, and IT business alignment. His current research activities cover business process outsourcing (BPO) in financial industries, management of outsourcing and nearshoring relationships, business process standardization, IT governance and the business value of service-oriented architectures. He teaches courses on IT outsourcing, IT governance, and electronic finance and he is responsible for the development of University of Bamberg’s B.Sc. program on International Information Systems Management (IISM).
