The Office of the Faculty Dean

The office of the dean is the centre of the faculty’s organizational and administrative operations. By following this link, you can find contact information for the faculty’s elected representatives.

The Dean

The dean represents the faculty in dealings with the university’s other academic and administrative bodies and in matters of external relevance. Most importantly, he is the official contact person for the university’s Board of Management and is a member of the Extended Board of Management. The dean presides over faculty committee meetings and is responsible for implementing the resolutions issued therein. Furthermore, he manages the faculty’s finances and other resources.

The Vice-Deans

The two vice-deans assist and support the dean in his duties and also act as representatives in his stead. They are particularly responsible for research and are therefore ex officio members of the standing committee for research and young academics (FNK).

FlexNow Coordinator

Nina Paulus, M.A.

The FlexNow coordinator provides assistance and organizational support in the implementation and administration of the FlexNow examination and credit management system. She acts as a coordinator between the office of examinations, the programmers and academic departments. Her responsibilities comprise organizing and conducting system training courses for faculty staff, answering students’ and staff members’ queries, passing suggestions for improvement and problem notification on to the appropriate parties, and assisting in locating the correct contact persons.

The Faculty Foreign Exchange Coordinator

Dr. Marco Depietri

The faculty foreign exchange coordinator participates in selection processes and provides counsel for students who have completed stays abroad in matters concerning the recognition and transfer of credits earned during such stays.
The coordinator undertakes the transfer process for credit earned abroad and is responsible for supporting foreign students with general advisory services and for coordinating their learning agreements.

Whether it’s arranging and coordinating appointments or preparing official Humanities Faculty meetings, the office of the dean is at the centre of the faculty’s operations. The dean’s office handles appointment ant habilitation processes and supports the dean in the execution of his duties.
