How to reach us

The Department of British Culture is located on the third floor of the ‘Rotenhan Palais’, which is at 25 Kapuzinerstraße.

The Rotenhan palace was built between 1711 and 1718, presumably designed by Johann Dientzenhofer as a noble residence for Joachim Ignaz and Amalie von Rotenhan. In 1999 it was converted and the building was given to Otto-Friedrich University.

If you are travelling from outside of Bamberg, we recommend that you use public transport as we do not have any of our own parking facilities. To reach us from the main train station in Bamberg, you can take the buses which are listed below. All buses go via the main bus station (Zentraler Omnibus Bahnhof [=ZOB]).

Map of the Area

From the main train station you can take buses 901, 902, 907, 911, 914 and 927 to the central bus station (ZOB). From here you can take buses 904, 906, 915 and 916 to the stop ‘Am Kranen’ (see map). From this stop it is only 2 minutes by foot to the Rotenhan palace, 25 Kapuzinerstraße.
