Objectives of the B.A. programme

 
This programme of study is designed to provide foundational skills in the relevant fields of cultural

study through the inquiry into medieval subjects.

• The ability to evaluate different medieval texts, objects and archaeological findings methodologically and in context

• Achieving new insights through the use of scientific methods in the field of Medieval Studies in an interdisciplinary manner

• The competent presentation and conveyance of results of interdisciplinary research of the Middle Ages for a broader audience

Using the example of medieval approaches, the B.A. programme in “Interdisciplinary Medieval Studies” imparts extensive knowledge that can easily be transferred to other periods of history. It teaches important prerequisites for careers in which liberal arts competencies with historical perspectives are required, such as archives, libraries, museums, cultural tourism and management.
